David Roberts, CVA:

I was born in the great state of Texas. I have been working in the veterinary field since 2006. I have spent most of my time as an emergency medicine technician but have worked in wellness and preventive medicine, too . This has lead to owning a three- legged cat named Asel. When I am not at work I enjoy riding my bike around Blue Star or spending time with family and friends.

Rich Rounds:

I have been with AER since March of 2011. I was new to animal medicine at that time. I came from the shipyard in San Diego where I was a marine (journeyman) electrician. I grew up in Iowa where I came to really enjoy animals. I have to admit that the first year here at Animal Emergency room was a real learning experience but wouldn't have it any other way.

Elora Gomez:

I'm one of the receptionists at AER and undergoing training to become a Veterinary Technician Assistant. I have a dog and a cat at home. Although I've only been working here for one year, I've been working with animals my whole life. I graduated from A&M with a B.S. in Biomedical Science and in Mathematics in 2012.

Don Cuba:

I was born in Austin but grew up in San Antonio. I have been working at AER for over a year and a half now. I have a Masters degree in Biology and come from a background in human medicine. I worked with exotic reptiles which sparked my interest in working more with animals. My first real love of animals came from visiting the San Antonio zoo every weekend as a child.

Claire Afflerbach:

I have been a veterinary assistant at AER for 2 years while completing my degree in Biology at Trinity University. I love small animal practice, but I've also enjoyed acquiring large animal experience working in the mornings at an equine veterinary practice. I'm currently working on my veterinary school application, and I hope to become a veterinarian myself in the near future!
